A Berlin man was arrested Wednesday on numerous drug charges after an equipment violation stop on Route 3 in Northumberland. Jason P. Hart, 46, was arrested being accused of giving state troopers a false name during a roadside investigation. Later, state police learned his correct name and found that he had a felony warrant on a violation of parole charge. He was also certified as a habitual offender and shouldn't have been driving, according to Lt. Gary Prince of Troop F.

Hart was arrested and held.

During a search of his vehicle, state troopers accused Hart of being in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, suboxone, and marijuana, so possession and intent to distribute charges were added to his docket. A "large sum" of cash was also seized, according to Prince.

At this time the investigation is on-going and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the New Hampshire State Police Troop F Barracks at 603-846-3333 or TroopF@dos.nh.gov.

Habitual Offender Arrested In Hopkinton

A Manchester man and habitual offender was arrested Tuesday after crashing his vehicle into a tree attempting to flee state police in Hopkinton. Stephen Stangle, 55, pictured, of Manchester, was arrested after a trooper attempted to serve him with a habitual offender notice at a construction worksite where he was working.

Stangle, according to Lt. Andrew Player of Troop G, knew the trooper was coming and had agreed to meet with him. When the trooper arrived, Stangle was driving away from the site, pulled into another address, and struck a tree.

"After a brief discussion with the driver, (the trooper) identified him as Stangle," Player said. "Knowing Stangle’s operating privileges were under suspension and that he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle, (the trooper) placed Stangle under arrest."

Stangle was arrested on an operating after suspension charge as well as an alcohol ignition interlock device violation. He's due in court in Nov. 22.
