LONDONDERRY, NH — Motorists got out of their vehicles to assist New Hampshire State Police with a combative man walking down the middle of Interstate 93 in Londonderry Saturday as part of a string of incidents that included a hit-and-run crash and rollover. The highway was closed for about an hour as the Massachusetts man was taken into custody.

State Police say they responded to a report of a hit-and-run on the Exit 5 ramp to I-93 North. As troopers arrived on scene, they received additional reports that a man was walking from the crash scene and waving his hands aggressively at drivers on the highway. Trooper John Tyo confronted Raymond Faucher III, 32, of Plainville, Mass., whom Police say refused to comply with all verbal commands and quickly became combative.

As Tyo struggled to place Faucher in custody, several motorists got out of their vehicles to assist. Londonderry Police responded and he was placed in custody. Londonderry Fire transported Faucher to the Parkland Medical Center for evaluation.
