“Over the past two years, we have spent over 1,000 hours volunteering our time on a wide array of service projects throughout our local communities,” Singleton said. “Whether we are helping people or pets, our volunteers demonstrate compassion and concern for the organizations we are serving, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the Burlington County Animal Shelter.”

“As liaison to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, I see first-hand the need for volunteers. Many times, the animals that come to the shelter are in desperate need of care and attention, having been abandoned or neglected,” Freeholder Dan O’Connell said. “The people who help at the shelter give these animals a better life while they wait for their forever home. We are extremely thankful to Senator Troy Singleton for arranging this event and helping our furry friends.”

The Burlington County Animal Shelter seeks to create an environment where all animals receive appropriate care, love, and attention at all times. To ensure the best possible quality of life for all of our animals the Shelter works hard to promote respect and reverence by establishing a “no kill” philosophy.

By working with committed volunteers and rescues, over a thousand animals’ lives are saved each year. Additionally, the shelter provides the essential services for reuniting lost pets with their owners.
