Madison Chief Honors Late Wife With Pink Badge. You Can Too
The Madison PBA are fundraising to fight cancer by selling pink badges throughout October.
MADISON, NJ - For the past three years Madison Police Chief Darren Dachisen has worn pink on his uniform in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The tradition saw Dachisen donning a pink badge and patch on his uniform throughout the month of to increase awareness of the disease. This year, Dachisen is sporting the pink badge and patch not only for those who have been affected by breast cancer, but also in memory of his late wife Mechele Rose Dachisen, who sadly lost her battle to cancer on December 1, 2018.
The Madison PBA is selling the limited edition Pink Police Patch to help support breast cancer education, early detection and treatment for $5 each. 100 percent of the proceed will benefit the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center – the same cancer center that took gracious care of Mechele throughout her battle, officials said.
