Springfield Schools To Have Early Dismissal Wednesday

All Springfield Schools will have a Single Session Day on Wednesday due to the forecasted storm.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — All Springfield Schools will have an early dismissal on Wednesday due to impending, hazardous weather conditions.

Dismissal Times:

  • Thelma L. Sandmeier Elementary School - from 8:40 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. (No Lunch Served) In addition, if a child is enrolled in extended school programs, note that there will be Morning Care; but no After Care.
  • Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center - at 1 p.m. Lunch will not be served and there will be no after care.
  • Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School - 7:45 am until 12:13pm(No Lunch Served)
  • James Caldwell Elementary School - 8:40 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and no lunch will be served.
  • Jonathan Dayton High School - students will be dismissed at 12:07 p.m. Lunch will not be served and after school activities are cancelled.

A possibility of 2 to 5 inches of snow and freezing rain is expected anywhere between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday. A winter weather advisory has been issued in all 21 New Jersey counties, with the majority of the snow falling between 2 and 5 p.m. (Snow Estimates As Gov. Phil Murphy Addresses NJ Winter Weather)
