Several Verona Water Main Breaks, Repairs Slam Town In July

Verona residents have seen 5 major water main breaks or repair efforts in a month. Here's where they took place.

VERONA, NJ — It’s been a trying month for water service in Verona.

With two days remaining in July, Verona residents have already seen five major main breaks or repair efforts that have affected service this month. The latest took place on Monday morning, authorities reported.

The Verona Police Department issued the following advisory at 8:15 a.m.: “Linn Drive water main repair. Water may be turned off in area. If water discolored, run cold until clear.”

Other recent water repairs and main breaks in Verona have included:

  • Water main repairs took place at Bloomfield Avenue and Rockland Terrace on Tuesday, July 16. “Some traffic delays to be expected on Bloomfield Avenue westbound,” authorities stated. “Water may be temporarily turned off in the area or discoloration may occur. Run cold water until clear.”
  • Water main repairs took place on Hillside Avenue on Wednesday, July 10. Authorities wrote: “Hillside Avenue closed between Forest Avenue and Mountain Road for water repair. Water may be shut off in the area and/or water discoloration may occur. Should you experience any water discoloration, run the cold water/flush your toilets until it becomes clear.”
  • A water main break took place on the 100-block of Fairway Avenue on Tuesday, July 9. “May cause water discoloration in area,” police stated. “Run cold water to clear any discoloration. Roadway is open.”
  • Water repairs affected Linden Avenue on Monday, July 1. Authorities stated: “Linden Avenue closed between Grove Avenue and Brookside Terrace for water repair. Water may be shut off in the area and/or water discoloration may occur. Should you experience any water discoloration, run the cold water/flush your toilets until it becomes clear.”
