FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A new television show inspired by Golden Globe-winning actress Awkwafina's Forest Hills upbringing will debut next week on Comedy Central.

The half-hour, scripted comedy "Awkwafina is Nora From Queens" follows Awkwafina as Nora Lin, who navigates young adulthood in Queens with the help of her dad (BD Wong), grandma (Lori Tan Chinn) and cousin (Bowen Yang), according to a Comedy Central press release.

Born Nora Lum, Awkwafina grew up in Forest Hills and attended LaGuardia High School, the elite performing arts school in Manhattan.
