Vaping Kills Another Person In NYC, Health Experts Say

The latest casualty was a woman in her 20s, health experts said.

NEW YORK CITY — A third New York City resident has died from vaping-related illness, the state's department of health announced Friday.

The woman was in her 20s, but no more details about her have been released. Another fatality was announced upstate, a woman in her 50s who lived in Ontario County.

"These deaths are tragic — and they are also preventable," said Governor Andrew Cuomo.

"We know smoking and nicotine are dangerous, and it's becoming tragically clearer by the day that vaping is too."

New York recently tried to ban flavored e-cigarettes, but a state supreme judge stalled the order.
