MindPath Care Centers’ Stan Monroe to Discuss Behavioral Health and Value-Based Care at the Inaugural NABH Care Coordination Summit

DURHAM, N.C. – October 14, 2019 – MindPath Care Centers, North Carolina’s largest outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare provider, is pleased to announce that its President and General Counsel, Stan Monroe, will speak at the Network for Advancing Behavioral Health’s (NABH) inaugural Care Coordination Summit on October 29, 2019. The summit will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the WakeMed Andrews Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Announced in June 2018, NABH is a collaborative and coordinated outpatient care system between WakeMed Health & Hospitals and several high-quality regional and national providers, including MindPath Care Centers, to better serve individuals with behavioral health and substance use issues across Wake, Johnston and Durham counties.

The inaugural Care Coordination Summit is a combined TED Talk forum and exhibition that will include thought leadership and collaborative success stories from within the WakeMed Behavioral Health network. Mr. Monroe will discuss the state of value-based care in North Carolina and how behavioral health will contribute to value-based care in 2020 and beyond.

“The NABH is one of our nation's most aggressive attempts to accelerate a patient’s transition from the hospital to the right outpatient care provider,” said Mr. Monroe. “It requires a coordinated effort by many behavioral health providers, who might otherwise be competitors, to work together as a team. So far, the results have been very positive. Patients are receiving quicker access to the critical mental health services they need while using fewer hospital stays. It's a win-win for both patients and healthcare providers.”

Jeff Williams, CEO of MindPath Care Centers added, “We are very pleased to take an active role at the NABH’s inaugural Care Coordination Summit. The collaboration with our partners within the NABH over the last year has accelerated our ability to reach more patients in need and provide them with rapid access to the appropriate mindcare providers at critical times. Working together, we are minimizing and preventing complications that adversely impact both patients and providers including lost time and suboptimal treatment. Not only can NABH be a model for North Carolina, it can also be a model for the nation.”
