Rhode Island Gas Prices Fall Another 3 Cents

Gas prices are continuing their slow decline in Rhode Island. Since last week, the average cost for a gallon of gas fell three cents, bringing it to $2.46. While prices have decreased in recent weeks, the current average price is considerably higher than this time last year.

A year ago, gas prices were 17 cents lower in Rhode Island at $2.29 per gallon.

Lloyd Albert, AAA's senior vice president of public and government affairs, said the outlook is good for prices to continue to fall.

"Prices locally are already down 11 cents from just the start of the year," Albert said."Continued strong supplies and less, wintertime, demand, is a good sign for motorists heading into the second half of February."

Across the state, gas prices range 71 cents from $2.29 to $3.00. Here's a look at the average price and range for gas, broken down by grade.
