RI Weather: Showers, Downpours On The Way For PM Commute

RHODE ISLAND — Tuesday is starting off dry in Rhode Island, but things will change dramatically by the evening commute. Showers and, at times, downpours will move in around 5 p.m., lasting throughout the overnight hours and into Wednesday morning.

Make sure to pack an umbrella when you head out on Wednesday morning as well, as showers aren't expected to taper off until around 8 a.m.

Expect temperatures in the mid-50s to low-60s throughout the day on Tuesday, with patchy fog in some areas. Overnight temperatures will drop throughout the rest of the week, reaching the mid-40s each night.

Showers likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 61. East wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog. Low around 55. East wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday
Showers, mainly before 8 a.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. High near 65. West wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunny, with a high near 62. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
