New Arrest Warrants Issued Charging Aggravated Rioting from Last Saturday

Arrest warrants charging two counts of felony aggravated rioting and felony vandalism have been issued against a Franklin man for damaging an MNPD patrol car outside the Central Precinct Saturday and accompanying others as businesses were damaged downtown.

Daniel Lane, 22, of Franklin, was photographed spray painting the car. He was also with a large group of individuals who vandalized Sabarro Pizza at 2nd Avenue North & Commerce Street and a downtown ticket booth. The police vehicle involved, a 2018 Ford, may be a total loss pending a report from a damage estimator. A total of 18 MNPD vehicles were damaged during the protest Saturday; 11 of the 18 remain out of service.

The MNPD is grateful to the Nashville community for the scores of tips and photographs being submitted through Crime Stoppers (615-742-7463) or the special email address created to receive information, NashvilleArsonInvestigation2020@nashville.gov. Detectives from a number of components are a part of the joint investigation to identify those responsible for criminal acts last Saturday and are reviewing a large amount of surveillance video and photographs.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the woman depicted in this video found at this link: https://youtu.be/3CJPt2D-WMY who openly set one of the fires at the Historic Courthouse Saturday night.

Anyone knowing her identity is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously. A cash reward is offered.

Arrested over the past several days in connection with damaging the Historic Courthouse are convicted felon Wesley Somers, 25, who is charged with aggravated arson, vandalism and disorderly conduct in the state system, and destruction of property using fire in the federal system; Jesse Lee Clark, 26, who is charged with aggravated arson, vandalism and disorderly conduct for breaking windows and helping Somers ignite materials; convicted felon Tondrique Fitzgerald, 23, who is charged with aggravating rioting and vandalism for engaging with others to pull a granite civil rights plaque off the courthouse wall (the plaque was smashed into pieces); and Vincent Hamer, 18, who is charged with aggravated rioting and vandalism for using objects to break at least two windows at the courthouse.
