VIENNA, VA — A man was hit with a charge for vandalizing a Vienna officer's vehicle before he was arrested for a separate incident on Sept. 28.

Police had responded to a resident's call around 2:28 a.m. about her intoxicated son acting irate. He fled before police arrived, but officers received another call about a man lying in the road at Cottage Street and Plum Street around 4:17 a.m.

Police say the man showed signs of intoxication and was combative with officers. He allegedly assaulted one of the officers while being arrested. He was charged with assault on a police officer and drunk in public and held without bond at the Fairfax County Detention Center.
