As the official start of fall approaches, you'll want to mark your calendars for these fun fall events.
VIENNA, VA — When summer officially ends, pumpkin patches, festivals and other fall events abound. Vienna has a number of events worth checking out.
We've rounded up some of the fall event highlights in and around Vienna. Among the events are Vienna Oktoberfest, DePaul's Urban Farm and Vienna Halloween Parade. Some events are ticketed; others are free. Check for other community events on our Vienna Patch calendar.

- Daily: DePaul's Urban Farm: The garden center offers a pumpkin patch and fall treats.
- Sept. 13-Nov. 3: Halloween Selfie Museum at Tysons Corner Center: This pop-up exhibit features Halloween and horror sets, activities and photo opportunities.
- Sept. 21: Caboose Commons Oktoberfest Birthday Bash: Celebrate one year of Caboose Commons with Oktoberfest festivities.
- Sept. 22: Vienna Police Cops & Kids Fun Run: Officers and kids bring their competitive spirits to this annual event.
- Sept. 28: Merrifield Fall Festival: Beer and wine gardens, vendors, children's activities and live music are highlights of this festival.
- Oct. 5: Vienna Oktoberbest: Enjoy, beer, wine, live entertainment and kids' activities at this festival.
- Oct. 5: Church of the Good Shepherd Fall Festival: This event features children's activities as well as meal-packing, blood drive, blessing of the pets (noon) and bake sale to benefit local causes.
- Oct. 5-6: Fall for Fairfax KidsFest: This free festival is geared toward families with young children with rides and other activities.
- Oct. 12: City of Fairfax Fall Festival: The festival brings over 400 arts, crafts, information, food and gourmet food vendors, children's activities and three stages of music and entertainment.
- Oct. 12: Wine, Cider & Beer Festival at Tysons Biergarten: This tasting event will feature over 50 different beers, wines and ciders.
- Oct. 23: Vienna Halloween Parade: Kids can dress in their costumes and march in the parade or watch from Maple Avenue.
