Vienna Oktoberfest 2019: Beer, Food, Parking

From beer to children's activities and authentic German food, there's plenty to do at Vienna's Oktoberfest.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna's Oktoberfest will bring a taste of Munich, Germany for another year on Saturday, Oct. 5. The 12th annual event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along Church Street near the Town Green.

The free event features beer, wine, food, entertainment, kids' activities and a German Auto Show. Caboose Brewing Co. will provide brews at the Main Beer Garden and Mill Street Food Court. Vienna Vintner will serve wine at the Main Garden Vienna Vintner and The Wine Outlet will be at Mill Street. Attendees can get their fill of German food at the Main Garden, while international food will be at the Mill Street Food Court.

Guests are encouraged to wear traditional Bavarian outfits or retro 1970s clothing. Live performances will entertain crowds on the Main Stage, Town Green Stage and Center Street Stage. Performers will include ’70s tribute band Superfly Disco on the Main Stage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Kids can find activities on the Town Green, including a performance by The Great Zucchini at 1 p.m., tie-dye shirt making, inflatables, carnival games and arts projects.

In the past, Oktoberfest has drawn 20,000 to 30,000 people. The event is held by the Vienna Business Association and Town of Vienna. Proceeds benefit the VBA Foundation, which supports charitable organizations in the Vienna area.

Parking options

Parking is available in the surrounding area. Here are some recommendations from the Town of Vienna:

  • Vienna Town Hall, 127 Center St. S: Open anytime on weekends
  • Vienna Elementary School, 128 Center St. S: Open weekends
  • 115 Park St. SE: Open after 12 p.m. on Saturday
  • Vienna Shopping Center/Next to 116 Maple Avenue W: Public parking spaces are available on far eastern corner of the parking lot next to the Sunoco Station at 102 Maple Avenue West. Town spaces are marked.

A shuttle will run to the festival from James Madison High School and Vienna Metro North. Attendees using ridesharing services should use 211 Church St NE, Vienna VA as the pick-up and drop-off address.
