'Disoriented' Man Told Police President Was Abraham Lincoln

Police said a woman called police, saying the man appeared to be disoriented and did not know where he was going.

OAK CREEK, WI β€” Police in Oak Creek say a man was taken into custody after wandering through yards and a local park.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers responded to Abendschein Park at just after 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 on a report of a man who was acting strangely.

Police said a woman called police, saying the man appeared to be disoriented and did not know where he was going.

When police found the man, he reportedly told officers he was walking through area yards looking for "Franklin County," thought the date was May 21 and that the current president was Abraham Lincoln, according to police call logs.

According to police, he was transported to Ascension Hospital for treatment. When he was checked out, medical staff at the hospital said the man appeared to be in a state of psychosis and was unable to care for himself.
