Eyebrow-Raising Great Sex Brewing May Come to Portland

Portland’s restaurant opening game has blown up all of a sudden, with the bar Pink Rabbit opening doors yesterday, a cafe opening next week serving pierogi Benedict, and Fried Egg I’m in Love opening its new restaurant next Thursday. That doesn’t even touch on the other stuff coming down the line, like hot pop-up Gado Gado’s soon-to-open restaurant, fresh-off-the-press menus from Maya Lovelace’s Yonder, and a fresh new locale for the soon-to-open Magna. Grower, not a Shower
Great Sex Brewing — a Redding, California-based brewery — will potentially open a brewpub in Oregon. A liquor license application insinuates Great Sex may stick a location at 4629 SE 17th Avenue, but attempts to contact the brewery have gone unanswered. If it does open here, it’ll have some stiff competition in Hillsboro’s BDSM Brewing. [Willamette Week]

Internationally celebrated dumpling house Din Tai Fung is ditching its reservation policy Monday, now only taking walk-ins at the Washington Square Mall restaurant. Mother’s Bistro & Bar, the restaurant mainly known for its long brunch lines, has moved to the much roomier Embassy Suites hotel, where it will start serving diners on Monday, January 21.
