While the Denver Broncos are likely set at wide out, the question about Emmanuel Sanders’ health has me thinking. Is Chris Hogan a realistic idea?

It has been an interesting offseason for the Denver Broncos in 2019 so far. The team fired Vance Joseph and hired Vic Fangio. Joe Flacco will become the new Broncos quarterback once free agency begins.

Even though Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton are on the roster, Denver could use a wide out in case Emmanuel Sanders does not recover in time. One name that I am keeping my eye on is Patriots wide out Chris Hogan.

Before we begin, I know it is unlikely the New England Patriots are likely to part with Hogan in free agency. The team could be losing Rob Gronkowski to retirement. And even though they have Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, and Cordarrelle Paterson, Tom Brady is going to want another weapon to throw to.

With that said, there is also the chance that the team decides to let Chris Hogan walk. That all comes down to what happens in free agency. I have no doubt that New England will look to improve their team in whatever way possible, even at the skill positions.

I believe the Broncos should take a look at Chris Hogan. Even though he will be 32 in October, Denver could use a veteran. He could also become that slot receiver for the Denver Broncos.

This will all come down to Emmanuel Sanders’ recovery time. But even then, having a solid third or fourth wide out could not hurt. His contract with the Patriots would be completely favorable for the Broncos if they decide to use those numbers as a leverage point. This is especially the case now with Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in their rookie contracts.

I am not entirely sure that this happens, but it is certainly something worth looking at when the free agent market opens up in March.
