The UK received an extension on their Brexit deadline today, but it wasn’t the one they wanted. Instead of the three-month postponement prime minister Theresa May requested, the EU has offered two weeks.
The EU’s offer came with conditions, too. May must try once more to push a deal through parliament. And if she fails—as most expect she will—MPs will have until April 12th to negotiate another deal with the EU. Any further extension will require UK parliament to convince the EU that the UK can find a way forward. It also requires the UK to participate in EU parliamentary elections in May.
