With the NFL trade deadline coming up at the end of the month, each team will take the next few weeks to asses their roster and decide if a move is needed.

For the Raiders, they have proved to be one of the most aggressive teams in the league when it comes to trades. Over the last two weeks, Oakland has already traded for two receivers in Trevor Davis in Zay Jones. But could the Raiders be interested in trading away a player for a draft pick or help at another position?

In a recent article by Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report, he named one player for every team that could be traded before the deadline. For the Raiders, that player was Arden Key, who is out for the next few weeks with a knee injury. Take a look at Sobleski’s reasoning behind a potential Key trade:

First, the Raiders invested first- and fourth-round draft picks in Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby, respectively. Both are bigger parts of the defensive line rotation, while Josh Mauro starts as the unit’s base end. Also, Benson Mayowa developed into the team’s best pure pass-rusher and leads the Raiders with 4.5 sacks. Key went from creating the most pressure on a bad squad to its fifth-best defensive end.

While it’s true that Key has fallen down the team’s depth chart, they likely wouldn’t receive enough in a trade to make him expendable. Key is still one of the team’s best pass-rushers, despite his struggles in the run. This move makes sense in theory, but don’t expect Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden to trade away the 2018 third-round pick.
