The Roger Williams University School of Law community and its “extended family” gathered at the Omni Providence Hotel on Jan. 25 to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s “Champions for Justice”: Robert J. McConnell of Motley Rice, Diana deGroof of Rhode Island Legal Services, and the Rhode Island Public Defender office. Nearly 500 guests honored the 2019 Champions’ commitment to public interest causes and helped raise $128,375 to support students in need and to advance the work of the Feinstein Center for Pro Bono & Experiential Education.
