The show follows three witch cadets who took the oath to serve their country and protect the innocent against a terrorist group called the Spree. Along the way there is love, broken hearts, death, deceit, and epic combat. Let's take a look at what scenes had fans on the edge of their seats. Warning, there are spoilers ahead.

The Spree's Last Attack

Spoiler ahead. The Spree is able to disguise themselves as other people making it impossible to know who they are. In the finale, the Spree continues with its mission and they target a soccer game. A Spree member disguised as a player kicks the ball into the air.

It explodes emitting a sound. It puts everyone into a trance as the Spree member says their motto, "We are the Spree." The attendants are frozen and start to recite a chant. It helps create even more anticipation for the next season and the relentlessness of the Spree.

Raelle And Scylla Use Salva

A lot of the show's emotion comes from Raelle's complex relationship with Scylla (Amalia Holm Bjelke). While audiences are aware of her true intention, Raelle can't help but fall in love. One of their best moments is when Scylla shows Raelle what Salva is. The scene is magical and romantic.

Its Twilight hour and there is a midnight blue hue to the scene. Raelle and Scylla use Salva to float and experience a magical moment together. It looks like a fairytale. Audiences can feel a strong connection between the two characters.

Raelle Uses Her Powers During Training

Raelle (Taylor Hickson) isn't like the other cadets in training. Her mother married a civilian making her an outcast. Raelle grew up with a special talent for healing. The best moment comes when Raelle and the cadets try to learn sleep induction.

Her partner wants nothing to do with the way Raelle conducts her healing and scolds her. Raelle recites biblical verses while healing which is seen as unusual. When the cadet pushes Raelle about her inability to save another male warlock, she uses her powers full force. Not realizing her strength, she causes everyone in the room to blackout.

Seed Of Reversal

Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams), Tally (Jessica Sutton), and Raelle are put together as a unit and will train at Fort Salem together. The group isn't as cohesive as expected, but fans get a strong feeling of power from the group. This is proved when they are trained to use the Seed of Reversal.

Surrounding a giant tuning fork, the unit must use "seed sound 32." At first, their drill sergeant thinks nothing of them until they start to emit immense power. So much so that the other cadets look in wonder. They're power only magnifies until the seed becomes too powerful and destructive and is shut down by their drill sergeant.

Cadet Training

Every combat or military-style show needs a combat training montage. Motherland: Fort Salem conducted a training scenario flawlessly and it gives audiences chills. The scene is intense as the cadets go through rigorous training through the heavy rain.

It cuts between outdoor training and a seminar teaching the cadets the Spree's objective. As drill sergeant Anacostia (Demetria McKinney) describes the Spree as "the agents of the end," there is a moment in training where Raelle struggles to climb the barricade and locks eyes with Abigail on the other side as rain pours down.

The Oath

The Oath that Raelle, Abigail, and Tally take when they turn eighteen made fans hearts race. It was a huge moment for the first episode as it kickstarted the rest of the show. In line with the rules of the Salem Accord, when a witch turns of age, she will receive "the call."

A medal will appear before them and if they choose to accept, must recite the oath. They pledge their lives to protect the United States against any enemy, foreign or domestic. This scene makes audiences anxious and giddy with anticipation.

General Alder's Power

This is a season finale spoiler. When General Alder, Tally, Raelle, Abigail, and Adil (Tony Giroux) return to his homeland to rescue his tribe, they are attacked. They are attacked by an old enemy under the cover of a sandstorm. General Alder showcases her true power.

General Alder, along with her biddies, emits a powerful vocal sound that creates a deadly strike storm. This is a chilling moment, as audiences have never seen General Adler's intense attack power that she is known for. She doesn't disappoint.

 Abigail Fights The Spree

One of the most intense battle scenes occurs at Abigail's cousin's wedding. The Spree uses the occasion to their advantage as it brings together the entire Bellweather family. When Abigail goes to check on her cousin, she finds her murdered with her throat slashed open.

She then encounters two Spree members and takes them on in hand-to-hand combat. Abigail is a worthy fighter and it had fans on edge throughout the fight. It became more riveting as her mother finds her and joins in fighting off the Spree.

The Cadets First Mission

The Cadets Fights the Spree in Motherland Fort Salem

The cadets have their first city drop training mission that then turns serious. General Alder and her lieutenants send in their soldiers to a Spree warehouse that only escalates to severe circumstances. They discover two trucks headed for Boston and they must be stopped.

General Alder commands the cadets to intercept despite them not being ready. This leads to an epic scene. The cadets line up in front of incoming trucks and manage to take out one. Tally warns Anacostia of the contents of the second but is dismissed. This causes a tense moment that leads to fatalities on both sides.

Raelle And Abigails End

Major spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen the finale. Raelle leaves the helicopter to bring back the little boy they rescued along with Adil's tribe. She gives him her mother's charm to keep him safe. With her back turned, Raelle is fatally wounded and Abigail sacrifices herself to try and save Raelle.

As the helicopter leaves, Raelle and Abigail share an emotional moment and clasp hands. From above, audiences see a strong force explode from Raelle and Abigail, resembling the black sickness that Raelle healed many tribe members from. As the episode ends, Abigail and Raelle are alive and walking in a suspended black force leaving behind a type of fungi or plant life.
