What $2,200 rents in Seattle right now

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in Seattle. We found five listings within $100 of today’s price: $2,200.

Ballard

First off, we have this straightforward, but small (588 square feet), two-bedroom apartment just off the main drag of Ballard for $2,195 a month. It’s in a midcentury building, but fully remodeled, with stainless steel appliances (yes, including a dishwasher), a stacked washer/dryer, and a heated bathroom floor, but just a shower—no bathtub. It’s close to both transit, including the Rapidride D, and amenities, and pets can come (but with both a deposit and pet rent).

Belltown/Uptown

Just as Belltown meets Seattle Center, this one-bedroom apartment with a (non-wood-burning) fireplace, a gas stove, and in-unit laundry is going for $2,215 a month. It’s larger than that first two-bedroom, at 634 square feet, and has a balcony for a little outdoor space. It’s extremely centrally located (and near transit lines going anywhere), but garage car parking is available, too. Other shared amenities include a gym and a shared roof deck. Pets can come along.

Crown Hill

A little farther north in the Ballard area, this two-bedroom half of a duplex has a full 1,000 square feet for $2,195 a month. Outside, there’s yard space, a front porch, and a back deck. The interior is still full of vintage details, including woodwork and ogee arches. Pets can come with a deposit. It’s relatively transit-accessible, but has off-street parking, too.

Capitol Hill/Central District

Right on the commercial drag of 19th Avenue E, this industrial-look apartment is one of those “open one-bedrooms”—a studio with a private sleeping space that’s almost a bedroom—but it’s 664 square feet, and has floor-to-ceiling windows where it does border the outside. It has both a dishwasher and in-unit laundry, too. Shared amenities include a bike maintenance room and parking, plus a courtyard. There’s a car parking garage, which probably costs extra, but it’s on the 12 bus line and walkable to others. Rent is $2,197 a month. (Photo is of a model unit.)

Delridge

Out in West Seattle in the southern part of Delridge, this two-story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a wood-burning fireplace and a porch rents for $2,150 a month. It’s relatively big, at 1,052 square feet, and has both in-unit laundry and a dishwasher. Pets can come with both a deposit and pet rent—but at least there’s a dog park onsite. Residents also share a lounge, a pool, a gym, and barbecues. It’s on the 120 bus line, but there’s a carport, too. (Photos appear to be of a model unit.)
