Exciting New West Seattle Smokehouse With Pork Belly Sandwiches Opens This Summer

Lady Jaye will feature smoked meats and cocktails

Carnivores in West Seattle are about to get a meaty new destination. A hot new smokehouse called Lady Jaye will open near the Junction on California Avenue by mid-summer, featuring pork belly “Porkstrami” sandwiches on rye, smoked bologna, turkey leg with dry rub, slow-roasted brisket, and other barbecue-friendly dishes. The new spot will be open for dinner during the week (3pm - midnight), and brunch on the weekends, with bloody marys and smoked pineapple mimosas. Lady Jaye will take over the location soon to be vacated by Pecado Bueno, making good use out of the outdoor patio and fire pit, with seating for 70 inside and 50 outside. Patrons can expect the interior dining area to have a rustic vibe, with dark wood and lots of warm colors. (For those in West Seattle wondering about the future of Pecado Bueno, Eater Seattle reached out to the restaurant, but did not hear back by press time; the Mexican chain still has three other locations across the city.)

The new project is a collaboration among Sara Rosales, Tyler Palagi, Evan Carter, and Charlie Garrison, veterans of the uber popular Pike Place Market bar, Radiator Whiskey, and White Swan Public House (on Eater Seattle’s list of best places to slurp oysters). Those who want a preview can check out a series of pop-up cookouts at Bar Harbor in South Lake Union this June and July, open to the public, with a menu that combines some forthcoming Lady Jaye dishes, as well as Bar Harbor specials, such as lobster rolls. The next “Bar Har BQ” is planned for June 23.
