With Seattle restaurants closed for indoor dining through at least January 4, there are many places in the city still upping their takeout and delivery game, or making their debuts in a challenging environment. Here’s a running list of some notable places that have either recently reopened for to-go orders or are completely brand new. Outdoor dine-in services are noted when available. Other openings and reopenings have been covered in recent Eater takeout guides.

This is the seventh outpost of the franchise across the Seattle region, and there’s another coming to Kirkland soon.

BALLARD — Parish Northwest brings a little bit of New Orleans to Ballard Avenue. According to the website, the restaurant mixes Cajun and Creole dishes with PNW ingredients, such as gumbo with locally sourced potatoes and cheese curds, softshell po’boys, oyster bisque, and Dungeness crab etouffee. There’s also a rum and gin-heavy cocktail menu, plus beer and wine. Limited outdoor seating is available in addition to takeout.

CAPITOL HILL — A new crepe-focused cafe called La Rue has opened below a pot shop at 1525 E Olive Way, Capitol Hill Seattle reported. Meanwhile, the drinks menu highlights a variety of coffee, espresso, and lattes.

CENTRAL DISTRICT — Pop-up hit Alexandra’s Macarons — which started out of a pink 70s VW van seven years ago — opened up its first full-fledged cafe at 1410 18th Avenue NW in late October, serving up a variety of macarons, such as rose sesame passionfruit, espresso chocolate, and brown sugar coconut. It also has some twists on a Pop Tart, filled with guava and cheese, plus sandwiches, tartines, and coffee drinks. Open for takeout and limited outdoor seating.

INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT — New coffee shop Phin recently opened on Jackson Street (near Dong Thap Noodles), specializing in Vietnamese roasts and light desserts. Among some of the drinks are café sữa đá, a Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk made on site, mochas, and Vietnamese yogurt coffee. There are also pandan waffles, flan with shaved coffee ice, and a small selection of juices and sodas. Open for takeout.

GREEN LAKE — Those looking for some Instagram-worthy bubble tea may want to check out Hangry Panda, which serves up some enticing versions (including the namesake with black sesame seeds, milk, and cream cheese-based salted milk caps) on Aurora Avenue N in the Green Lake/Greenwood/Phinney Ridge borderlands. Snacks include spicy chicken teriyaki, sesame scallion wheat noodles with tea eggs, minced pork rice, and gluten-free waffle fries, featuring ingredients sourced locally. Open for takeout and delivery.

WALLINGFORD — Wallingford’s nautical-themed Octopus Bar is temporarily closed, but it created a new takeout window called The Salty Shack, which is now open for business. Sandwiches, salads, Seattle dogs, and a tater tot (or fries) chili bowl called a Chum Bucket are all on offer. To-go booze includes spiked lemonade, beer, and a variety of canned cocktails, such as blackberry margaritas. Pickup only with online preorders.

CAPITOL HILL — The folks behind drinks den Cure Cocktail have opened a new restaurant called Remedium Island Grill, featuring a mix of dishes from the Philippines, Hawaii, Vietnam, and Guam, as a tribute to the ownership’s family roots. According to an official announcement, the plan is to eventually move Cure Cocktail to the new spot 1449 E Pine Street (the former Adana home) and have it be the official bar area of the restaurant. But, for now, diners can order a selection of items, such as pork belly sisig, fried Spam musubi rolls, and ube waffles, for takeout.

PIONEER SQUARE — After opening in 2019, low-key cocktail bar Bad Bishop had been closed for over a year, not just because of the pandemic, but also due to a pipe that burst, requiring extensive repairs. It recently reopened for business, serving up a mix of classic cocktails, including bloody marys to go. Smoked meats specialist Bootleg Barbecue also recently showed up to provide some food.

There are also vegan and dessert options, as well as coffee, beer, and wine to go.

WEST SEATTLE — After closing for a few weeks to regroup and reset, Alki’s Italian destination Il Nido has reopened for reservations this week.
