Former Torino striker Maxi Lopez, currently of Brazilian club Vasco Da Gama, believes that Inter’s Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa could do a job for the Granata off the back of his season on loan with Santos where he was crowned top scorer of the Brazilian league.

“Are there are any players in South America that can do for Torino? Gabigol, certainly. At Santos he did very well, while at Inter he had no chances,” the Argentine striker explained in an interview with Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

Gabigol joined Inter for €30 million in 2016 to much fanfare but was afforded very few minutes and limited to just 10 appearances in his debut campaign. The 22-year-old was loaned to Benfica for the first part of the 2017/18 season before moving on to former club Santos in January. The Olympic gold medallist has certainly made the most of the spell and managed to rekindle past form but his Inter future remains up in the air.
