UPDATE: 9 am Robertson Sheriff Declares Motorcyclist’s Death Homicide

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the shooting death of Brandon Rettich, 42, of Springfield, at the intersection of East Robertson Rd., and Friendship Rd. in Cross Plains, TN.

Robertson County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a call of a motorcyclist being shot at the intersection of East Robertson Rd., and Friendship Rd. Upon arrival, Deputies found Rettich, had died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the shooting.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has identified Marquis Waller, 22, of Nashville as a suspect in the shooting. Authorities say Waller fled the scene in a yellow Mustang. Initial investigation has determined that this was not a random shooting. The victim (Brandon Rettich) was allegedly shot during an ongoing dispute with Waller.

The investigation is still on-going. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for Criminal Homicide for Waller who is still at large.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for the location of Marquis Waller, of Nashville, TN.  He is described as a black male, 6’1”, about 245lbs, Brown eyes, and black hair.

The suspect was last seen in a yellow Mustang with a black stripe, and the front had minor to moderate damage. UPDATE: 6:15 am: We are communicating with the Sheriff’s Office this morning and should be getting an update soon. As soon as we have more details, such as the identity of the victim and official classification of the incident, we will bring it to you.

UPDATE 2:30 am: We are still waiting on authorities to release more information, however, they have made no indication that the situation presents any danger to the community.

CROSS PLAINS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person is dead following an incident involving a motorcycle on E. Robertson Rd. at Friendship Rd in Cross Plains (MAP). The incident occurred just before 7:30PM Monday evening.

The motorcycle and its rider appear to be in the middle of East Robertson Road.  The Robertson County Sheriffs Office is investigating and has taped off E. Robertson Rd at the intersection as well as an adjacent corner.

At the moment E. Robertson Rd. is closed and will not likely open for several hours.

Robertson County Emergency Medical Services has confirmed one fatality at the scene. At the conclusion of the scene investigation, the victim will be transported to Nashville where an autopsy will be conducted.

Reports that the motorcyclist was shot has not been confirmed by Smokey Barn News.

As soon as officials release more information we will bring it to you.

Update 9:43PM – 

Though it is early in the investigation, the Robertson County Sheriff’s office has released a brief statement on the incident.

The Robertson County Sheriff‘s office is currently investigating a possible shooting victim at the intersection of E. Robertson Rd. and Friendship Road.

It is still very early in the investigation and Detectives are investigating the possibility that it is a shooting fatality but again it is still early in the investigation.

Detectives are still working to identify the victim and inform family members. As soon as the rider’s identity is released we will bring it to you.

If you live in the area expect the intersection to be closed for several more hours while deputies conduct their investigation.

Update 10:20PM – E. Robertson Rd is now clear and open for travel.
