Mention the name Adam Lallana these days and you probably instantly split the Southampton fanbase.

There are still those who prefer to remember our Academy graduate fondly from his time at the club, and whilst they no doubt have issues with the manner of his departure, they at least understand his desire to move up a rung in the Premier League in search of greater success and silverware.

Others…erm, not so much and it’ll be a cold day in hell before his behaviour in forcing a move can be forgiven.

The now 30-year-old has had some success at Liverpool, making well over 100 appearances since he made the switch back in the summer of 2014 for a £25million fee and for a period he was a regular in the England setup, but he only has six appearances to his name in the campaign of 2018/19.

With him quickly talking of his regret at how things played out, as we look for fresh impetus under new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, I wonder how many would be prepared to forgive and forget as everyone knows what he’s capable of doing on the St Mary’s pitch.

I’d love your comments here or on social media as I genuinely wonder what the split would be now after all these years.
