HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. -- A long line of cars, filled with visitors, was backed up Saturday in front of the entrance to Raven Rock State Park.

Officials there are only allowing just over 130 people to be on the park grounds at one time. This limited reopening is a result of the first phase of the three part plan to gradually reopen North Carolina from the stay-at-home order issued because of COVID-19.

We also visited other parks in Fayetteville and Johnston County where we observed a limited number of people out, taking in all the sunshine while still observing social distancing.

If the state gets through the first phase of the reopening, Phase 2 would start, and that would allow more of the parks to open up with fewer restrictions.

The earliest that can happen would be May 22.
