MADISON, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- A Madison area personal fitness coach throwing his weight behind a one-of-a-kind philanthropic Saturday date night.

Luke Briggs says he along with a team of volunteers were looking for a way to help give back during the pandemic.

"It’s gonna be a night of giving," Briggs said.

He partnered the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and the River Food Pantry to hold a virtual fundraiser.  River Food Pantry President Charles McLimans says the goal of the event — raise enough money to feed 400 local families.  But beyond that, the effort hopes to offer something else for those in the most need.

"We actually were able to source bleach and a six pack of toilet paper and paper towels, items that I’ve been going to my grocery store and the shelves are empty.’ McLimans said.

McLimans says the best part, you don’t even have to leave your house to enjoy the festivities.

‘We’ve got some talented comedians, musicians, just gonna be really fun night,’ McLImans said.  In total, the effort hopes to raise $10,000 dollars for the worthy cause.
