Former Ohio State running back Brian Snead spent most of the 2018 season suspended from the team. That suspension followed a sexual assault accusation.

Per the Lantern, Snead was accused of sexual assault by a woman in September. Not long after the alleged incident on Sept. 11 was reported, Snead was suspended by the Buckeyes.

Snead has not been charged criminally regarding the incident as the woman did not want to press charges after it was reported. Per Title IX protocol, a university investigation into the incident was opened and Snead was found to have violated campus rules regarding sexual conduct. He was dismissed from the school in November, though no public reason was ever given for his suspension.

From the Lantern:

“Ohio State does not tolerate sexual assault,” [school spokesman Ben] Johnson said. “The safety and well-being of our community is our first priority. In this case, the individual was found in violation of our code of student conduct and removed from the university.”

Ohio State football spokesman Jerry Emig said the football program learned about the incident prior to the third game of the season and suspended Snead from playing in games, traveling to away games and being on the sideline at home games. He remained suspended throughout the investigation.

Snead announced his transfer in January

Snead revealed he was leaving Ohio State in January. Not long after he announced his transfer, he enrolled at Iowa Western Community College.

Snead, a Florida native, was a four-star running back in the class of 2018. He was rated as the fourth-best running back in the class and the No. 16 player in the state. Had he been available for the entirety of 2018, he likely would have seen minimal playing time behind the duo of J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber.

Before the suspension, Snead had 11 carries for 37 yards and scored a touchdown.
