Anny SivilayMesquite held its first pride event, “Mesquite CommUNITY Pride Month,” last Friday at city hall, and residents packed the lobby to show their support for this historic step in Mesquite history as well as the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community.
Councilman Jeff Casper kicked off the event with some opening statements, followed by a prayer by Rev. Geoffrey Moore of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, and music by St. Stephen UMC children’s choir.
