3 Arkansas solar installers recognized by industry publication

Solar array installers Scenic Hill Solar, Seal Solar and Shine Solar have been named to Solar Power World’s 2020 Top Solar Contractors list. In 2019, the Arkansas-based companies installed nearly 10,000 kilowatts of combined solar capacity.

“AAEA is proud to congratulate these three members for helping fuel our state’s renewable energy industry,” said Steve Patterson, interim executive director for the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association. “The ability of these companies to grow their workforces, even in the midst of COVID-19, reiterates how solar power continues to be a strong economic driver for Arkansas.”

The Top Solar Contractors list is the most recognized annual list for solar contractors in the United States in the utility, commercial and residential markets, according to an AAEA news release.

The following Arkansas companies were on the 2020 list:

  • Scenic Hill Solar of North Little Rock, established as the largest independent solar developer in Arkansas, debuted on the list in 2018 and is ranked No. 189, according to the release. It installed 3,942 kilowatts of solar energy capacity in 2019 and has completed 13 megawatts of solar energy projects within the past three years.
  • Seal Solar of North Little Rock is on the list for the first time and is ranked No. 243. It has 32 employees and offers “turnkey solutions to homeowners, businesses, government entities and farmers across the state,” the release shows. Since it was founded in 2012, it has installed more than 8,000 kilowatts of solar capacity, including 2,158 kilowatts in 2019.
  • Shine Solar of Bentonville is one of the fastest-growing solar companies in Arkansas and has 185 employees. It specializes in residential arrays and operates in four states. It installed 3,793 kilowatts of solar capacity in Arkansas in 2019. This is the third consecutive year for the company to be on the list and is No. 143, its highest ranking.
