The striker was brought in to replace Neal Maupay by boss Graham Potter, but the Seagulls manager will have been disgusted by what he saw.

After a quiet first half an hour, the 26-year-old clearly had a rush of blood as he rushed in for a challenge on the youngster.

With his studs raised, Andone sank his studs into Valery's shin, just below the knee.

Clearly distressed by the images he was seeing, the former Arsenal man said on Gillette Soccer Saturday: "Ah that should have been five red cards.

"That's one of the worst tackles you will ever see."
