Boxing news: Deontay Wilder cheers for Andy Ruiz Jr to beat Anthony Joshua in rematch: ‘Let’s go Ruiz, knock him out again’

Deontay Wilder has explained why he will be cheering on Andy Ruiz Jr in his upcoming rematch with Anthony Joshua on December 7.

The WBC heavyweight titlist is certain to be watching closely to see who’ll emerge as his fellow champion from the fight in Saudi Arabia.

As they are stablemate's under Al Haymon's PBC guidance, the American is hoping Ruiz Jr can repeat his initial victory and set up a future in-house undisputed fight between them.

Wilder told FightHub: “I’m definitely rooting for him to do what he did the first time.

“He’s coming back and finishing the job, for me, that’s what I see.

“He’s got all the momentum going for him, it’s the way that he beat Joshua.

“Ruiz is a good fighter, but it was the way he beat Joshua, that’s what makes me go for him.

“It’s no other thing in my mind that points me away from Ruiz winning this rematch, I don’t care what Joshua goes in camp and corrects or whatever.

“I think he’s gonna be fighting too many demons because they don’t really come out with the truth about many things…

“I wish Ruiz well and after that we can finally get one champion, one face, one name.

“It’ll be an easy fight to make because of the situation and circumstances that we’re both in, like being in the same stable.

“So I’m definitely team Ruiz all the way. Let’s go Ruiz! Knock him out again baby!”
