WESTON, Maine — A Littleton woman survived after being thrown from her car in a Route 1 crash on Friday night, police said.

Desiree Deprey, 27, of Littleton was driving south in Weston around 10 p.m. when she left the road, struck a culvert and rolled over, Aroostook County Sheriff Shaw Gillen said. Deprey, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car, he said.

She was taken by Danforth Ambulance to the Houlton Regional Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening while the 2015 Chrysler 200 was towed from the scene due to “disabling damage.”

The cause of the crash is still under investigation but authorities say speed was likely a contributing factor.
