Coronavirus crisis forces liquidation of Lincoln home improvement retailer

A home improvement retailer in Lincoln has been forced into liquidation, placing the blame on the coronavirus pandemic.

Palmers of Lincoln Limited is located on Dixon Street and has a range of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms in its showroom, along with a team of designers.

In a statement, the company said being unable to trade for the past seven weeks has placed an “enormous burden” on its finances.

It said it took professional advice and had no option but to place the company into liquidation. However, this relates only to Lincoln as Palmers of Trent Bridge Limited in Nottingham is unaffected by the situation and will continue to trade as normal.

All current showroom displays of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms must be cleared by the end of June. These are now being offered for sale to the public at significantly lower than cost price.

However, due to social distancing rules it cannot open the showroom for general viewing.

Only six people at any one time will be allowed to view and anyone considering purchasing a display should contact [email protected] to book an appointment.

When purchasing, payment in full must be made prior to the removal of the display and an appointment will need to be booked to facilitate its removal. The customer will be responsible for the removal of the display as staff will be unable to assist in this process.
