July the earliest you can go to the cinema in Lincoln

The wait continues for a trip to Odeon

By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincoln Odeon won’t be open until July at the earliest, as lockdown continues to keep some cinemas closed for the time being.

Odeon has 120 sites in the UK, and the current plans are to re-open all, including the Lincoln Brayford site, in early July after initially closing on March 17.

In a statement published by Odeon, a spokesperson said that this would only be possible if the government deems it safe enough, as well as if there is a strong line-up of films ready.

The statement reads: “We continue to make good progress in our plans for reopening cinemas in the UK and across Europe.

“We will be ready to welcome guests back from early July, but the reopening of our cinemas will be dependent on having a strong line-up of films in place for our guests to enjoy.

“We are working closely with national cinema associations and governments as we introduce additional health and safety protocols across all of our sites.

“These new protocols are being introduced to reassure our guests and ensure that they can enjoy the cinema experience in the safest and most controlled environment.”
