Pub near Lincoln valued at £225k sells to new owners

A pub with a guide price of £225,000 in a village not far from Lincoln has now sold to new owners.

The White Hart in Lissington, which is only 12 miles away from Lincoln, is a 16th century inn over two floors, with a single floor extension either side.

It was being marketed by chartered surveyors Fleurets as the former owners, who oversaw the business for the last 30 years, are retiring.

Simon Jackaman of Fleurets dealt with the sale of the pub, which hopes to open again to customers in mid-July depending on the latest government guidance.

A refurbishment will take place at the pub over the next five weeks and new owner Allison Redstone is excited for the future.

She said: “It’s a strange time to be taking over a business with all the restrictions of the pandemic, but it has given us a period of time to do all our refurbishment in a more leisurely fashion.

“We have been in the area almost a week now, the locals are an incredibly friendly bunch and we have been inundated with offers of help and advice.

“We are really encouraged by the enthusiasm of the locals to get the place up and running again. We are so excited for the future and can’t wait to open the doors of the White Hart once more.”
