New Delhi: A photograph is being widely circulated on social media platforms with the claim that a water cooler having the phrase “Who is Hussain” written on it was recently installed at the New Delhi railway station. The image also shows the phrase “drink water, think Hussain” written on the device.
Many users who have shared it on Facebook and Twitter claimed that the water cooler, with the particular words, was a step towards “Islamisation of India”.
“If Jai Sri Ram was written, it would have become communal,” one of the posts (below) said.

One user named Virappan Singh’s Facebook post has been shared by nearly 400 people.
The image has also been circulated via WhatsApp. But no verified handle or prominent personality has shared it so far.
Fact check
The photograph of the water cooler is from 2018. Water coolers, with the words ‘Who is Hussain’, were installed at the Raipur railway station by an NGO that goes by the same name.
‘Who is Hussain’ was established in 2012 and it works at empowering “communities to organise charitable events“. The NGO is inspired by the legacy of Hussain — a member of the family of Prophet Muhammed.
The banner consisting the phrase “Who is Hussain” on the water coolers in Raipur were, however, removed a day after the devices were installed following controversy.
