Utah Jazz rookie Nigel Williams-Goss took part in a protest in Salt Lake City on Wednesday following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25.

The killing of Floyd has sparked protests worldwide to condemn racism and the social injustice of minorities. Athletes and celebrities have used their platform to speak out against racism and issue support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Black Lives Matter movement started to raise awareness for police brutality across the United States as Williams-Goss was among those supporting the cause. Williams-Goss was pictured holding a “We Demand Change” sign at the protest.

Williams-Goss studied organizational leadership at Gonzaga and often speaks out against social injustices and racism. He recently shared an article his mother, who is white, wrote for Yahoo, which called upon all races to help change the social climate around the world.

Players from around the NBA have all banded together in speaking out against racism and police brutality and have helped raise awareness for creating change worldwide.
