Sheffield student banned from Eduroam after illegally downloading Kung Fu Panda 2

A Freedom of Information request has revealed 93 University of Sheffield students had their Eduroam access suspended due to a copyright complaint between 2017-2018.

Eduroam provides the WiFi across all campus buildings and halls and is free for students and staff to use with a university email login in.

The most popular files were "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Rick and Morty", which were illegally downloaded six and five times respectively.

In the UK it is illegal to download free music, films and television programmes from unauthorised websites.

The information obtained by The Tab reveals that the infringing material included films and TV programmes made by DreamWorks Studios, Warner Bros and MTV.

The top downloads were:
