There are big battles going on for starting jobs and roster spots for the Minnesota Vikings but who has an advantage going into Week 3 of the preseason?

Time is running out for a lot of players for the Minnesota Vikings. The team must trim their roster to 53 players by 3:00 pm central time on Aug. 31, 2019, and many individuals will find themselves released and entering free agency.

With some practice time left and two preseason games left to impress the coaches and staff, players on the fringe of being released will need to step up their game in a big way if they want to have a chance at being on an NFL roster this year.

That means they will need to beat out the others at their position and work their way up the depth chart to grab an opportunity and run with it. Fans have seen this happen several times and it is likely to happen many more in the future.

Let’s take a look at some of the players fighting for spots on the team’s depth chart or on the team’s 53-man roster and see who should be considered the favorite for the job and which individuals will find themselves trickling down the depth charts.
