Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe is injured, with the club reportedly looking to assess the damage to determine how long he will be out. The club confirmed that Roofe was set to undergo scans on the knee this week after he was pictured in Leeds city centre with a brace on his knee yesterday. Roofe has already missed time this year, as he missed six matches earlier in the season with a thigh strain.

So now what? Roofe has scored 14 league goals this season, and is the club’s leading scorer this season, so is it reason to panic?

Probably not. Patrick Bamford, who Leeds brought in to lead the line earlier in the season, appears to be finally be fit after playing and starting for a couple of matches. He’s even bumped Roofe to an attacking midfielder role, meaning that Pablo Hernandez, Jack Harrison, Tyler Roberts, and even Jamie Shackleton can step in and fill that role if necessary. Mateusz Klich has played that role in the past at other clubs, so he could take over that role with Adam Forshaw moving forward to play a more advance midfield role while

Also, Leeds have been able to overcome other injury problems all season, without a significant letdown in quality of play. Even the departure of Samu Saiz to Getafe hasn’t had very much of an impact on the team, and his absence sparked the dire run of form at this time last season.

At this point, the best thing for Leeds fans to do is to have faith in Marcelo Bielsa. There are 14 matches to go in the season, and he and his staff have been able to patch together a starting XI and a bench with this thin squad and a number of youngsters that have come through and made significant contributions. There is no reason to think that anything will happen the rest of the way.
