Indigo adds Shillong as its 54th domestic destination

IndiGo has commenced operations to and from Shillong -- its 54th domestic destination, officials said. The airline inaugurated 7 new flights on Kolkata-Shillong and Kolkata-Raipur routes. The new routes will be serviced by an ATR-18 aircraft. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen the airline’s ATR operations.

PUNE: IndiGo has commenced operations to and from Shillong -- its 54th domestic destination, officials said. The airline inaugurated 7 new flights on Kolkata-Shillong and Kolkata-Raipur routes. The new routes will be serviced by an ATR-18 aircraft.
Furthermore, Kolkata–Shillong–Kolkata is IndiGo’s next route under the regional connectivity scheme (RCS). Chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma - graced IndiGo’s inaugural flight from Kolkata to Shillong, along with his delegates.
William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo said, “We are delighted to inaugurate our flights from Kolkata to Shillong and Raipur.
Kolkata-Shillong is an RCS route, which will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the north-eastern region. With this expansion, we hope to create more affordable, point-to-point connectivity for our passengers. IndiGo will continue to offer an on-time, courteous and hassle-free service and affordable flying experience always.”
These new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen the airline’s ATR operations.
The low cost airline had recently announced that it has further decided to strengthen its international operations by starting flight from Mumbai to Singapore and Bangkok.
