AGRA: The body of an unidentified woman was found in Kanpur-Farrukhabad passenger train stashed inside a trolley-suitcase.
The matter came to light on Friday early morning at around 12:30 am, when the railway staff found an unattended suitcase near a lavatory of train’s coach at
Farrukhabad railway station.
The woman’s body was wrapped in a polybag and stashed along with a pillow and sugar sack.
Senior sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar of Farrukhabad GRP (
Agra division) said, “The victim seems to be in her early 20s. There were no injury marks on the body. We have shared her picture with other police stations of Farrukhabad and
Kanpur district police to establish her identity. Meanwhile, her body has been sent to local mortuary where doctors will wait for three days, if no one comes to identify the body, then we would initiate post-mortem, in order to ascertain the cause of death.”
“CCTV footage of all the 25 stations between Kanpur and Farrukhabad are being scanned to ascertain the person who was traveling with body stashed in suitcase,” he added.
