70kg silver seized from Ratanpur border

AHMEDABAD: Police on Thursday seized 70kg silver worth around Rs28.31 lakh from Ratanpur check point at Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
As the silver was seized during polls, the police informed the income-tax (I-T) department which took over the investigation. Sources in I-T department said that the silver was seized from a truck and an employee named Chotu Surana of Shree Nakoda Abhushan Bhandar from Ajmer was apprehended.
During the interrogation, the employee gave the details of ownership of about 50kg silver, but the details of about 20 kg silver was not given. The enquiry in the case is on, said sources.
