Ahmedabad may get heavy rainfall today

Ahmedabad: While the overcast sky on Thursday did not result in rain for the city, forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD) mentions heavy rainfall on Friday for the city and district. The city and district have seasonal deficit of 60% and 61% respectively.
According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rain is likely with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Anand, Vadodara and Bharuch. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir-Somnath and Kutch.
Met department officials said that there are two systems at work over the region - a depression over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood moved northwestwards to Madhya Pradesh, it is expected to weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area over the state in next 48 hours.
Likewise, a trough runs from southwest Rajasthan to northwest Bay of Bengal, providing conducing atmosphere for good rains.
On Thursday, parts of Chhota Udepur, Pavi Jetpur and Kavant in Chhota Udepur district received very heavy rainfall.
