AHMEDABAD: Gandhinagar police inquiring into bigamy allegation against IAS officer Gaurav Dahiya will have to give few more days to the bureaucrat to appear before them as the cops are busy with bandobust for chief minister Vijay Rupani government’s third anniversary celebrations.
“We were supposed to question him on Monday. But most of the police officials were given task to ensure proper bandobust for the CM’s programme at Mahatma Mandir in Sector 13 of Gandhinagar on August 7 where the third anniversary of the government will be celebrated.
So, the latest plan is to call Dahiya on August 8 for questioning in the case of alleged bigamy,” said an official of Gandhinagar police.
A Delhi-based woman last month wrote to ACP, crime against women, cell in Delhi alleging bigamy which was forwarded to Gandhinagar police. A team of Sector 7 police took the woman’s statement last week at her residence in Malviya Nagar in New Delhi.
“According to the woman, Dahiya had contacted her when he was in Mexico. Later, they met in New Delhi and got married at the Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh,” said a police official.
“Various incidents took place at different cities and none of the incident occurred in Gandhinagar. Gandhinagar came into picture as Dahiya is a bureaucrat here,” said the official.
