Bank of Baroda initiates consultative process to discuss roadmap for growth
AHMEDABAD: India’s second largest public-sector lender, Bank of Baroda, on Monday organized a consultation session in Ahmedabad. The two-day consultation process began on Sunday, wherein members of some 624 branches of Ahmedabad zone participated.
Bankers deliberated upon issues of the banking sector and aligning the bank’s goals with the nation’s goals, during the consultation session.

A similar state-level consultation is also scheduled to take place on August 22-23. Bankers mulled over ways and means to increase credit to various sectors of the economy while enhancing the use of technology to bring about innovation in the banking process.
“The discussions also aimed at making banking more responsive to the needs and aspirations of senior citizens, farmers, small industrialists, entrepreneurs, youth, students and women,” said Vikramaditya Singh Khichi, executive director, Bank of Baroda.
The meeting also reviewed the bank’s performance and its alignment with national priorities such as credit support for economic growth, infrastructure / industry, farm sector and blue economy, Jal Shakti, MSME sector and Mudra loans, education loans, export credit, green economy, Swachh Bharat, financial inclusion and women empowerment, direct benefit transfers, less cash/ digital economy, ease of living, alignment with local priorities and corporate social responsibility.
